Uploading never stopped, The Search engine froze and wasnt updating the results. The newly uploaded items were there just invisible until the search engine was restarted,

These people must have mistaken the Archive for Limewire. It's either one person with a bunch of separate accounts or a few people under the same "roof". What I'd like to understand is WHY they're doing this. There's no profit in this kind of action. If I were to risk getting sued or arrested for video piracy I'd want to make money at it. What's the point of all this if they're not making a dime? Of course, I've been asking why about a lot of things that are going on around here lately and I guess this is just one more thing that I will never understand. I guess I just have to accept the fact that some people do what they do because they're assholes.

Hey, it's been that long since I used to download like that. I stopped when I found out it wasn't kosher. And as far as showing you pictures of my grandchildren, that will have to wait until the eggs hatch. :)

I honestly cannot picture people in the middle east watching "professional" wrestling as most people I ever met who even tolerate that nonsense had big tires and went muddin' and poached aligators and shit... I really cannot imagine a kid in beirut or tehran watching white guys with long hair in leotards artifically pummeling each other well beyond the normal tolerance a human body has for punishment. I admit I watched wresting... when I was 8. It's time to move on, really. It's fake, it's silly....

That would be a good idea. Illegal uploads can be had in thousands of other online venues. It would be nice to keep the archive "pure".

I guess all anyone can do is just keep catching 'em as they come in and take 'em out, and then hope that the jerks who keep putting this stuff up will eventually get busted and get shut down. I really don't understand the motivation for this sort of uploading activity. Dardarkom has it's own website, so I could only wonder why they insist on involving the Archive.

Honestly I don't see anything changing much, all we can do is stumble along as best we can. Until such time as the IA people take an interest in what's going on around here and appoint a moderator.
But considering the fact that they refuse to answer emails or take any action to address peoples concerns or inform the users about anything, then I really feel that they have just abandoned the site. The one post we have received recently was a non answer and did absolutely nothing to inform any of us about the status of what's going on.

I know what you mean. When Diana Hamilton first made the "awaiting input from regular staff" announcement I really wasn't expecting things to be at a standstill for two whole months and counting. I would have at least thought we could have been told the reason why at some point during that time. But it is what it is and I wouldn't be surprised if things are still the same past New Years Day. I'm not going to envy the new moderator's situation by the time they get one in. That person's going to have a lot to catch up on.

Keep up the good work, you're doing great things. I've noticed that copyrighted movies and the wrestling stuff is still coming in while the stuff that's ok has slowed way down here and in classic tv. It's a shame this is going on but you have to expect this when the site's been left on autopilot for so long. But I'm still looking forward to the day when things get back to the way they were when I found this site. I've got more Drive-in clips and trailers ready to go for when that day comes.
